How to Choose a Melt & Pour Soap Base
Choosing a melt & pour base depends on clarity, foam, additives and the climate where finished soaps will be sold or stored.
Transparent vs white
Transparent bases showcase embeds and colours. White bases suit creamy, milk-style and herbal bars. Both are available as standard and low-sweat versions from Kosmos Toiletries.
SLS-free
For milder positioning, use our SLS-free transparent base. Always test fragrance load (often up to ~2%).
Processing
Cut, melt at 75–80 °C, add colour/fragrance, pour, cool fully. Bases support good colour stability under high-temperature melt conditions.
